Wooden Furniture by Vito Selma

Furniture designer Vito Selma is a master of geometry and wood, conception and craft.  Selma creates a range of wooden furniture that appear to be visually complex, but are based on simple geometric patterns.  The table above, titled Geo, features an interwoven three-dimensional grid with cross bars connecting one point to the next.  While it might be simple in theory, the execution and result are stunningly complex.

Vito Selma works out of his one-man shop in Cebu, Philippines, having accomplished much at his young age.  Selma’s work has been commissioned by the princess of his home country as well as Saudi Royalty and the famed South African president and activist, Nelson Mandela.  With his best years ahead of him, his body of work is already remarkable.

Richard Chai ‘God of Thunder’ inspired Driving Gloves

Richard Chai delivers a new set of custom black leather driving gloves for Acura. They’re inspired by the latest super-hero flick in theaters now (think big hammer). They should be available at ODIN.

Walk the Line with Studswar

Model Paolo Roldan is the face of the latest lookbook from new label Studswar. Embracing a military motif, Studswar looks towards a police state for a lineup, dressed with an earthy color palette. Highlighting fitted silhouettes, functional wear and the subtle accents of studs and other embellishments, the brand walks a straight and narrow line for a fun yet stern showing.

Kris Van Assche Footwear Autumn/Winter 2011

Here’s a look at the forthcoming footwear collection from Kris Van Assche’s Autumn/Winter 2011 collection. They continue to push forward with a take a modern men’s footwear which has been “borrowed” and “inspired” a wide range of other brands. Leathers in suede look strong. Well worth spending some time on this one. Plan your budget accordingly.

Forestbound Men’s Bag Collection

Forestbound delivers their first bag collection aimed at the men’s market. With four styles, the small collection offers a variety of sizes and shaped all formed from vintage and reclaimed fabrics. There are familiar shapes in the collection that appeal to most.

Raf Simons Spring Blazer

Raf Simons releases a new blazer from their Spring/Summer 2011 ready-to-wear collection at thecorner.com. It’s a traditional cotton blazer with just a touch of Elastane to give it some breathing room. Expect a two-button closure with a generous four pocket offering. The jacket comes unlined but has an array of superior ribbing details throughout the garment. A true collaboration of modernism and sophistication with this classic blazer. I have a Raf Simons suit and the fit was always impeccable.

Issey Miyake ‘O’ Watch by Tokujin Yoshioka

The latest watch from Issey Miyake appears to be carved from a block of ice.  This sleek, simple and stylish watch is named after the french word “eau” for “water”, a subject that also inspired its design.  Its fluid curves and translucent character embody a sense of minimalism that is lost in most modern watch designs.  This watch has a pair of hands on a blank dial over a crystalline clear band.  The result is a piece of statement jewelry that reaches far ahead of the curve by going back to the basics.  Nice touch, Mr. Tokujin Yoshioka.  [via designboom]

and last but not least …

Clément Chabernaud by Karim Sadli for Yves Saint Laurent Spring 2011 Eyewear

The Sight of Luxury? Clément Chabernaud reunites with photographer Karim Sadli for an editorial look at Yves Saint Laurent’s current eyewear lineup. Also featuring Othillia Simon, Sadli directs in such a fashion that this coming summer just would not be complete without a trip to the nearest YSL boutique for an eyewear refresher.
