Lanvin AW 2011 Campaign & Collection

Good morning Peeps! We are hoping you’re enjoying the new MSP website, and encourage your feedback.

So it’s Monday, bloody Monday – and in true tribute to Spring in the southern hemisphere and Autumn in the north, as with all seasonal changes, we’re celebrating. Yes, Stig & Stylemeister held a little gathering last night and occupied our minds with some serious brain storming and dancin’. Ahhh-hmmm. Dance most of you blokes would say is for sissies. Yeah sure – BUT if you’ve seen the latest Dance Central from Kinect X-Box, you’ll know exactly what we’re on about.

Kinect brings games and entertainment to life in extraordinary new ways without using a controller. Imagine controlling movies and music with the wave of a hand or the sound of your voice*. With Kinect, technology evaporates, letting the natural magic in all of us shine. (Like Style last night with Dance Central!).

So! To make this simple, Kinect is just like The Minority Report with Tom Cruise. Remember how he would wave his hand over a glass wall and data would appear out of no where. Well Kinect (for those blokes who don’t know) maps your body and generates your movements into an avatar that appears on the screen. It is a blast. (Check out Kinect here).

On a Style note, Dance Central on X-Box Kinect is so bloomin’ excellent, that one of the world’s premium luxury brands – Lanvin, Paris…created their latest campaign with the help of some of the most well known male and female models. Now, beyond the visual delights of seeing models move other than mince (slang for walk), you can actually see what the clothing is doing. Does the slim fit suit inhibit one’s movements when I’m cranking? Nope. Can I bend, twist and turn in this shirt? Yep. When I’m performing the swagger, will my pants split? Nope. And when I’m punching my arms above my head, like at a U2 concert, will my buttons pop? Definitely not. See, Lanvin hit on something more than just a good looking campaign. Designer Alber Elbaz is one of the first clever dudes to show off the movement of a collection to appease his audience to give them a well rounded visual of the product. And is seen in a cameo appearance at the end of the video.

MSP LIKE! And will be continuing the Dance Off comps next weekend.

And now for the collection that will have you mixing and matching your wardrobe like nothing else.  What we dig about Lanvin is Alber designs clothes that are signature pieces. In an outfit, you have several items of clothing that can be worn with anything in your closet. Even the hat. Yet, when strategically designed together as you’ll see below, they work perfectly. MSP dig Lanvin and the way the collections are designed and displayed to the buyer. Enjoy the viewing. Cheers.
