Many of us would think that designers and fashion houses spend 100% of their time only creating beautiful clothing; but many dedicate a large part of their efforts giving back to the fashion communities and partners that support and adore them.
Internationally lauded for their commitment to Australian wool, Ermenegildo Zegna is doing just so, by hosting over 200 international media flown in from all over the world and inviting Australian media, VIPs and friends of Zegna to a stunning and globally anticipated event that includes an exhibition of multimedia installations, the Ermenegildo Zegna Fall/Winter 2013 fashion show enriched by a special capsule collection dedicated to merino wool and a grand party to be held at the Royal Hall of Industries, featuring Temper Trap.
The Zegna Family, flying in from Milan, will be joined by Australian film star, Chris Hemsworth, Korean-American actor, Daniel Henney, Hong Kong-based actor and singer Leon Lai, and Australian actress and model Megan Gale, in a commemorative evening to celebrate an important milestone for both the Zegna Group and the Australian wool industry.
On the occasion, Ermenegildo Zegna Group CEO Gildo Zegna and Ermenegildo Zegna Group chairman Paolo Zegna will also announce the winner of the 50th Edition Ermenegildo Zegna Wool Award for Superfine Wool and the winner of the prestigious Vellus Aureum Trophy.
Commenting on the two-day celebration, Ermenegildo Zegna said the guests have been invited to “discover the value of the Australian wool industry and its long lasting bond with Ermenegildo Zegna”, in addition to the first steps of the wool production process, through a visit to a group of farms in the New South Wales area.
In line with its corporate mission, The Woolmark Company also added that it supports the Ermenegildo Zegna initiative “with the intention to increase awareness and appreciation of the fibre across the world, underlining the role of Australian woolgrowers within the fashion and textile industries and enhancing values like quality, innovation, education, provenance and traceability”.
