2014 is the Year of the Horse. I am sure for you, as it is for us here at Menstylepower that conjures up a lot of images. The Knight in shining armour, the cowboy, the man from snowy river and of course…hi-ho silver.
For me personally, it is a cultural mystical image. The Horse, as in the Chinese horoscope’s definition depicts certain qualities of one’s character. And the horse is this; Active, energetic, fast-thinking and they’ve got plenty of sex-appeal. But one characteristic that makes me smile, is that the Horse knows how to dress. They’re strong, charismatic and purposeful. And that’s why this latest collection from Shanghai Tang is fully endorsed by MSP for our masculine Gents.
Shanghai Tang, the newly recognised international luxury brand was inspired by the horse for their latest collection.
Quilted vests and riding jackets in immaculate black and white; desert inspired elegance with sandy toned pants and jodhpur lace-up detailed with vivid orange and red. Knit polos and the Bomber blouson updated the urban look. Tailored suiting in singular shades of ink, enamel blue and kelly green make the playful prints youthful in every way. Clean lines of contrast trim and panel inserts create colour blocking on the cashmere sweaters.
Inspired by golden age of Hollywood, the campaign features Chinese supermodels Bonnie Chen and Zhao Lei.
Through the lens of photographer Richard Bernardin, Shanghai Tang brings to life the elusive and desired glamour and sophistication of the modern Chinese aesthetic.
Eroded cliffs, luscious plant life and gleaming architecture is the backdrop for the latest collection by Shanghai Tang. Copying the sheen, texture and bold prints, the perfect marriage of textiles and nature jump off the screen when viewing the campaign.
