Louise Edmonds is a blogger, stylist and writer with a self-confessed split feminine/masculine personality style and a serious penchant for Prince.
She started her career studying Journalism, Photography and Film & Television, specialising in television presenting, before relocating to Sydney 18 years ago to produce for the Rock Eisteddfod on Network Ten, present on Good Morning Australia and produce/present on various television commercials.
In early 2009, Louise after a long career in the entertainment and retail worlds decided to commence a blog named MenStylePower as a tool to encourage men to be their holistic selves in a much saturated female fashion market. As blogging hadn’t been heard of in Australia at that time, her major audiences were from the USA and UK.
At that time, MenStylePower.com was invited to be part of New York Fashion Week – blogging for US fashion giant Nautica and profiled by Barney’s New York, and are now vlogging exclusively for AskMen with a style savvy Video-blog series covering menswear and accessories, along with top tips on how to be a gentleman in the twenty-first century.
Louise was commissioned to write for CEO Magazine reaching a massive 250,000 gentlemen monthly and the highly respected FashionBeans.com, which attracts more than 4.5million page views a month. The FashionBeans team as a whole contains some of the most intelligible talents around, including former editors from some of Britain’s biggest magazines and writers from Drapers, ShortList and Men’s Health.
Soon after, Louise was appointed Men’s Style Blogger for the Sydney Morning Herald’s ‘Executive Style’– a men’s fashion and style digital magazine based in Melbourne – where she worked to add an international and experiential flavor to the content.
Her styling efforts were also employed for SMH’s collaboration with David Jone’s Menswear department to create a 10 x men’s look editorial on exciting apparel for the professional executive’s workwear.
Louise blogs, shops and styles for a living as well as runs social media channels, attends events and is the creative voice behind the MenStylePower website.
With the growth of her career and following on social media, Louise now splits her time between being a Men’s Style Blogger and building her creative ideology around small businesses in fashion and digital printing.
Behind closed doors, Louise enjoys music, fine food and immersing herself in anything creative. She’s always working obscure hours as she is a mother to a beautiful 2-year-old daughter which, as many mummy’s running a business know, takes front row in one’s life. She is particularly fond of Australian men’s fashion, counting HAN, Song for the Mute and Jayson Brundson as some of her favourite labels.
