Men’s Fashion Designers 2010

Burberry2010 I truly believe that knowledge is power. And in Style and Fashion, you need to know who YOU are to really wear your clothes well. In our E-book we talk through all the points you need to know so it’s easy for you to create a platform for yourself that is a base from where you can creatively style from. Exciting!

There are many great designers throughout the world, who have made their mark through innovation and integrity. And of course, there are many new, fresh and exciting designers who have no loyalty in the market place, but are just as great in their infancy as the Parisian Fashion House designers we now see posted on bus shelters and billboards.

Understanding the mission statement, or the heart beat of a designer brings you closer to what they do, and why they do what they do. Many say fashion is fickle. Many say it’s unnecessary. Well, we all need clothes on our backs, and these people saw many many centuries ago that you could do so with a little more flare, a little more sophistication.

Thomas Burberry, a 21-year old draper’s apprentice opened a small outfitters shop in Hampshire, England. He committed himself to quality and innovation in fabric and outerwear design, which earned him a loyal following and by 1870, his shop was now an emporium.

15 years forward, Burberry developed a trenchcoat that was adopted by the British officers during the Boer War. And to this day that same design walks the streets proudly and is one of Burberry’s staple pieces in store. The Equestrian Knight trademark which appeared in 1901 with the word ‘Prorsum’ is Latin for Forward. And fast-forwarding to today, we see the same innovative and ‘giving’ that was behind Burberry 150 years ago, now with their Burberry Foundation which is to help young people realise their dreams and potential through the power of their creativity.

The Burberry Foundation is committed to dedicating its global resources to help young people build confidence, make connections in their communities, and grasp opportunities to succeed. The aim of the Foundation is to empower young people to use their intellectual creativity — that which will help them to imagine and achieve their life goals.

MenStylePower salute you Burberry for the consistency to see others succeed, without losing the value of family, friends and social consciousness.

What makes a man attractive to a woman?

We can go around in circles and say that to be attractive to a woman, you need to be handsome, tall, dark, well dressed and have a deep, sultry voice that can melt icing off a cupcake. But that sort of ‘handsome’ can only sustain the attraction in a woman for so long.

Dating coach Christine Akiteng (www.torontosnumber1datedoctor.com) offers the following advice on what it takes to become the man women love to love!

Men can easily sabotage their chances with women by having a paralyzing fear of women – feeling that they must exhaustively understand them and then use that “knowledge” to “force women to yield” and in turn win women’s love, respect and devotion. The quest to “force them to yield” creates the illusion of “power over the enemy” because it keeps the mind in an overactive, continually problem solving “do something” state even if it’s self-destructive.

This fear-driven pseudo-logic so often suppresses the natural ability to act in the “now”, and engage in moment-to-moment experiences and truly experience intimacy with another.  So you find that you’re not making that “click” because you have so internalized the fear of vulnerability and emotional intimacy that sometimes you don’t even recognize the fear anymore. In your world, it becomes an absolute truth that women = too risky. And you no longer recall why or how you came to that conclusion, just that it is.

In your most vulnerable moments, your core fear-driven feelings override your feelings of love making you gravitate toward fear driven approaches rather than love driven ones. But this fear is groundless since it’s just your own fear of your own inadequacies, insecurities and self. Fear of self is the greatest of all terrors, the deepest of all dread, the commonest of all mistakes. From it grows failure. From it comes loneliness. Every time you think you are putting your ‘best’ foot forward you find that you are only stepping on your own feet. It’s mentally stressful, emotionally frustrating and very isolating.

You can overcome your fear of women by simply overcoming the fear of yourself. Overcoming fear of self is the key. Every kind of fear amounts, in the last analysis, to fear of self; for if there were no fear of your innermost self, you could not possibly fear anything in life. You do not need to be afraid of women. You do not need to necessarily “fight” them to win them. You can become so naturally charming just by sitting down, talking to them, warming their hearts and inspiring their romantic feelings and sexual desires. They’re people too, however hard it might be to hear that.

As soon as you internalize this simple TRUTH and start treating women (and other people) like human beings with their own thoughts, feelings, needs, wants, desires, strengths, weaknesses, ways of being etc. (and you don’t even have to understand them just open yourself to knowing them that way) you will find that you can actually be natural and at ease with them, you can be funny, interesting and totally endearing in a natural way. Your experiences are easy, refreshing and fun. No stress, no sweaty palms, no overwhelming anxiety and no pressure to be “perfect”.

You being open, willing to listen, and demonstrating the freedom to be effortlessly human and naturally charming (which most of us seem to have forgotten how) is the sexiest and most attractive trait of all attractive traits. You doing this will earn a massive brownie point from her. And we’re on a mission for a sugar hit!

There’s also another way to earn those brownie points. Leaving a legacy. Helping those weaker than yourself. How?

Try ‘teaching orphans English while on your surfing trip to an exotic destination, or how about dedicating your time to underprivileged students at a university. This, we can assure you, is a huge turn on for a woman.

Here are 5 men who have been extremely successful in their career of choice, and behind the scenes, have dedicated their hearts to a worthy and important cause.

Vampires and their Hair

RPQuite unknown and obviously youthful, Kristen and Robert have exposed their real-life relationship which obviously has developed from their silver screen tension. Clearly Robert Pattinson is the heart-throb of nearly every teenage girl on the planet. And included in this group are Gen X and Baby-boomers who are happy to reminisce on such days when innocence of a first love flourished. Robbie has by-passed the Hollywood code of conduct and rule book, to draw in his co-star with chivalry, gentlemanship and respect. Wow – those are words not used nearly enough in the media these days, but the question remains…are they here to stay or are we going to have another Rihanna and Chris Brown saga?

Pattinson is to me, very uncomfortable in real life. He’s shy, awkward and with his angular face washed of the Vampire makeup of the alluring character Edward Cullen, the dangerous predator disappears and the true person remains. Feeling comfortable in your own skin must be one of the most difficult life lessons, and yet many of us blokes don’t get it until we’re starting to get that salt and pepper look on top and we give in. Oh well, youth has eluded me so I may as well just accept my look. Yes! Do that! But do it now.

The Vamprish style has always been controlled by black. Black isn’t a colour, it’s a shade. So it will sit well on anyone. Because the pupils of our eyes are complimented and the composition of this shade brings focus to the face. The timeless look of this style is in the fusion of loose fitting jeans, ties, vests and tailored jackets. Absolutely no jewellery. The best palette is charcoal, grey, deep blue, black, metallic and white. And as for the hair – that ‘just got out of bed’ look is the go.

Let’s talk about Sex-eee-ness…

Jean Paul G - got it all! We’re never ready for that electable feeling of manliness that can creep into our groins when traipsing home from the boxing ring in sweaty Lonsdale’s and smelling not far from an abattoir. But you’re feeling good. Damn Good.

And we’re never expecting the moment when you’ve fully serviced yourself in the shower, sung few tunes of Sinatra or T.I. in the foggy mirror before towelling yourself off like you’re whipping numchucks around your body like your 5pm Ninjitsu class. You hear that Dolce and Gabanna suit calling your name in the next room so you mince on in, as if it’s to be greeted by the girl of your dreams cascading down your pillows. But once dressed, you feel like a garbage bag of beer bottles.

So what is it!

Blame hair loss, even bad lighting – nothing can prepare you for this cruel dichotomy. And what’s even crueller is – Men who possess an innate manliness tend to do the least worrying about how they measure up to the very mystery of sexiness.

So let’s firstly establish one thing – Sexiness has nothing to do with Sex. It’s inextricably linked to sex as a concept but totally separate from the act. Yes fellas, we’ve all head it before, feeling sexy is a state of mind and sex starts in the brain. If you can get into her head – it’s done and dusted. But let’s get back to you.

Despite the preoccupation with sexiness; it gracefully transcends age. You may be feeling threatened by those Gen-Y’s with their uber-cool ‘off the clock’ magnetic pull of every 25 year old kitten that you’ve got your eyes on, but fear not my friend, sexiness has a lot to do with posture, voice intonations, dress code, smell, dimensions of your ‘Guns’ and owning yourself, more than you think. It’s about being at home in your skin and having a healthy dose of Ego (not one that you park in your garage every night).

So, if you’re wanting to hear more about sexiness, how to attract a women through your style, your dress, your tone of voice; we’ve got the e-book for you!

You don’t need to be Royalty to have a Tailor!

Enzo Satori - translation - Italian Stallion! It’s downright unseemly to have a tear in the crotch of your trousers right? So where do you go to mend this? Is there a service where someone can stop by your place to give you what you want in terms of fashion attire? And not just any attire; we’re talking custom made suiting and tailoring.

In Miami, USA, an absolute veteran has moved into his own field of providing custom made suiting and tailoring right in the comfort of your own retreat.
He knew he could lower the price of custom made suits by eliminating the retail overheads and use his contacts to access fabric mills in various countries. The Stylemeisters like him already!

The masked hero, sends out an army of his highly trained reps to men’s doorsteps to measure shoulder widths, arms lengths, torsos, waist size and more, to tailor up a magnificent suite for your body. He then ships your specs to meticulous tailors in Hong Kong who make your power suit within weeks. So who is this genius? We’re talking about Enzo Sartori.

Enzo is a perfectionist when it comes to fitting the right suit to your body shape and size. He’s also passionate about the right fabric for your attire. The secret mills that he sources his product from also make suites for Calvin Klein and Valentino, so you are getting a super deal!

The Stylemeisters are very pleased to see the return of the suit. It seems that disposable fashion is starting to wane and the nostalgic days of old are returning with chivalry. You don’t need to be part of the Royal lineage to have a tailor, all you need is a mobile phone to call Enzo and sit back with a cognac and cigar for your perfect suit to arrive.
